About the Author

Robert W. Pinkerton was born and raised in Rochester, New York. His father was an inventor and a musician. His mother was a dedicated and loving soul who taught her children to respect the values in this life, and to be each other's strength and best friend. Robert traveled down many avenues throughout his years and felt most at home in the sales field. A salesman until his death, he befriended total strangers and left his mark in this life as God's salesman. He died on December 27th, 1994 of Lymphoma and failed kidneys. He was 69 years old.
As Robert has illustrated in his poetry, there is humor and sadness, dreams and illusions, hopes and fears, and a great abundance of love in all of our lives. It's up to each of us to decide how we want to deal with them all. This collection of poetry was written by one man who knew what worked best for him in any given situation; pouring out the words of his soul onto paper. His poetry has allowed us to look through his eyes and capture the scenes as he saw them; to feel with his heart the emotions he felt, and to know we can rise above our own misgivings and misfortunes. If laughter is truly the best medicine, then Robert healed a lot of hearts in his lifetime. If compassion is truly the gift of a friend, then the love he gave will remain with us even though he is gone. The dreams he took with him, the ones not revealed to us, may still come to be; as yet another young soul draws on his life and seeks out the ink well to continue the works of the poet.
